Description

On April 29, 2011, the bidding results for the City Wastewater Treatment Plant in Kaili City, Guizhou Province were released. A local private company Herocan was selected as the winner following a highly competitive selection process when about 10 local and foreign companies submit their bids. Herocan’s offer is around RMB 120 million to obtain the 30 year concession to operate the plant. The facility has a treatment capacity of 80,000 cubic meters per day. The first phase (50,000 cubic meters per day) has been in operation since 2007 and the 2nd phase (30,000 cubic meters per day) was completed in June 2010. The plant mainly serves the central area of the city where about 552,000 people live. Herocan has a 100% stake in the project. A project company, Kaili Jiacheng Water Treatment Co., Ltd. was established to undertake the project. Kaili Jacheng formally took over the plant in July 2011.
