Description | Gul Ahmed Wind Power Plant is a 50MW wind power facility run by Gul Ahmed Wind Power Limited, a subsidiary of Gul Ahmed Energy of the Gul Ahmed Group. The project is located about 100km away from the ocean in the middle of the desert in Sindh Province, Pakistan near Jhampir. Gul Ahmed Wind Power Limited is a SPV sponsored by Gul Ahmed Energy Limited (41.15%), InfraCo Asia (38.85%), and the International Finance Corporation (20%). Gul Ahmed Wind Power Limited signed a PPA with the National Transmission and Dispatch Company Limited (Government of Pakistan). The project will be a 20yr BOOT. Gul Ahmed Wind Power Plant reached Financial Closure in April, 2015 and has an estimated cost of $135.3m USD, of which $33m USD will be financed through equity and $102.3m USD will be financed through debt. Equity will be provide by Gul Ahmed Energy Limited ($41.15m USD), InfraCo ($38.85m USD), and the IFC ($6.6 USD). Debt will be provided by the National Bank of Pakistan ($22.34m USD), the United Bank Limited of Pakistan ($22.34m USD), Alfalah Bank ($11.18m USD), Proparco ($20.64m USD), FMO ($13.73m USD), and the IFC ($12.08m USD). Gul Ahmed Wind Power Plant is expected to started production in December, 2016.
