Gulf of Suez wind farm and HAU RE portfolio

The project comprises the construction of renewable energy projects in the region of Egypt, including the 1.1 GW Gulf of Suez wind farm in Egypt. The sponsor is Hassan Allam Utilities (HAU). It received an equity investment of up to $75 m (or EUR 68.5 million) in the project company HAU Energy BV, established by Hassan Allam Utilities. The investment has been provided by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Gulf of Suez wind farm will be able to provide electricity to 1,080,000 households.
