Information Water Resources-AP has come up with Gundlakamma project with a ticket size of 697.39 INR Crores. This project in Irrigation sub-sector involves The current status of the project is Notice to Proceed and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project Gundlakamma project envisages construction of 5.668 km long earth bund with a live storage of 69.901 MCM for an annual utilization of 303.93 MCM of water to provide irrigation facilities to 32,400 Ha in 9 Mandals of Prakasam and Bapatla Districts besides augmenting drinking water supplies to 2.5 lakh population in 43 villages en route to Ongole town. Gundlakamma Reservoir Project was accorded administrative approval for Rs.453.85 Crore by Govt. of Andhra Pradesh vide G.O. Ms. No. 243 I&CAD PW & Major Irrigation II Department Dt. 28.12.2005. As per the CWC HQ letter No. 6/2410/2003-PA S/ 362 dated 15.04.2005, as the project does not involve interstate aspects. The project is included under AIBP during FY 2005-06. The latest revised estimated cost of the project is Rs. 753.833 Cr. Project Components under AIBP Earth bund with 15 vertical gates with live storage capacity of 69.901 MCM. Right Main Canal of length 27.262 km to irrigate an area of 11331 Ha and Left Main Canal of length 21.975 km to irrigate an area of 21068 Ha.
