Description | The Gunnison Copper project in Arizona is a large-scale copper development project with a resource base exceeding 831 million tonnes. It involves transitioning from in-situ recovery to conventional open-pit heap-leach and SX/EW processing to produce finished copper cathode domestically. The project includes an integrated sulfuric acid production facility to support heap-leach operations and reduce operational risks. The adjacent Johnson Camp Mine has achieved copper cathode production using novel Nuton sulfide leach technology. The project is advancing through feasibility study and permitting amendment phases, targeting a construction decision by mid-2028. |
