Description | The project involves constructing a water supply channel from the Kakroi head in Sonipat to the Basai water works to supply 686 cusecs of water to Gurugram, sufficient to meet the needs of the population up to 2050. The channel will be about 70 km long with a fully underground pipeline to help eliminate water theft. The capacity is planned to be increased to 1,000 cusecs to benefit a larger population over a longer period. Gurugram will also receive 500 cusecs of water from the NCR canal, totaling 1,500 cusecs in the coming years. Additionally, 389 cusecs of drinking water will be provided for the Mewat region. |
