Description | The Guyana Gas-to-Energy (GTE) project is a US$1.9 billion infrastructure initiative designed to transport natural gas from the offshore Stabroek Block via a 120-mile pipeline to a 300-megawatt power plant in Wales, West Bank Demerara. The project aims to cut electricity costs by 50 percent and is scheduled to be operational in late 2026. Construction progress includes installation of over 8,000 piles, pouring of over 18,000 cubic meters of foundations, placement of four gas turbines and transformers on foundations, and arrival of NGL bullet tanks at the site. |
