Description | Although the structuring of the agri-food chain continues, its economic product is declining, despite growing needs. Indeed, the agricultural and food sectors do not exceed 2 % of the annual wealth creation in Guyana. There are many opportunities for farmers in the region, with emerging sectors (construction, fuels, etc.) but the territory still has too little knowledge about agro-industrial crops, including biomass electricity production. DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT: This is a feasibility study of the structuring of an agro-industrial production and valorisation sector on the Plateau des Guyanes. It takes the form of a large-scale agricultural experiment (planting and monitoring of non-woody plants selected for their resistance to climatic conditions). |
