H2NorthEast Low-Carbon Hydrogen Project

H2NorthEast is a hydrogen production facility that has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Northern Gas Networks (NGN) to explore delivering low-carbon hydrogen to industrial users in the North East of England. The project aims to decarbonise energy-intensive sectors and create a fully integrated UK hydrogen value chain from production through to end use. It has submitted an application for Phase 1 under the East Coast Cluster Teesside selection process, targeting connection to carbon dioxide storage infrastructure by 2032. The project also plans to deliver hydrogen across North East England through the future East Coast Hydrogen transport network.
