(GASCO). Hyundai E&C won the EPCC contract worth around USD 1.7 billion (KRW 2.2 trillion) in July, 2009. It was constructing a facility refining natural gas drilling 3000 meters under the sea, about 200km of the Arabian Coast for domestic and overseas market. Hyundai E&C took on the construction of Utility & Offsite Project Package including the expansion and repair work of electricity·steam·water supply facility, the 160km-long new pipeline network, and of existing gas processing plant. If completed, the plant could refine 2150 MMSCFD of gas, equivalent to a daily consumption of Seoul citizens.We are one teamThe commencement of work was delayed three months due to a delay in the selection of temporary site at the beginning of site opening. However, thanks to speedy construction work, we obtained huge reliability from the ordering organization by finishing the construction of temporary accommodations and shop facilities can house 7,000 staffs and employees within just seven months. We also had to work day and night by injecting a maximum 8,500 manpower per day to meet the tight deadline.The ordering organization expected that it would be difficult for us to meet the deadline due to some delays caused by subcontractors and other companies ahead of constructing “electricity production” one of the major processes. In contrast to their expectation, fortunately, we completed the electricity production process of gas turbine generator (GTG) No. 1 about two months ahead of the agreed schedule and gathered glowing reviews “Hyundai E&C, never let down us.”
