Description
Description | Now is exactly the perfect time to realize the Nibelungen project HAGEN. Our world is in motion, changing faster than ever before. It’s full of contradictions, in which orientation is difficult – just like in the saga. Iconic Hagen, Kriemhild, Brunhild and Siegfried stand for these contradictions and thus provide high identification potential. As a result, we reach a broad, global audience of young adults of diverse cultures. This high-end series tells European cultural heritage, history and fantasy and is produced in Europe, where the narrative has its origin, by the independent production companies Constantin Television GmbH and Wilma Film sro. With 110 shooting days in the greater Prague area and on Iceland’s coastsides the series will combine an international team and cast: leading actor Gijs Naber (Dutch), Jannis Niewöhner (German) and Rosalinde Mynster (Danish) amongst others. This spectacular project will clearly underline the international production standard of the Eastern European film industry. A large part of the shooting will take place in Prague's Barandov Studios, where medieval Worms will be shot in a studio backlot. Post-production and VFX will take place in Germany. Overall more than 250 people will directly benefit in an economical way from the production itself (cast, team) and over 900 people are involved otherwise (extras, attached services e.g. catering & travel) Since shows like HAGEN perform very well on international platforms, a global streaming deal is in discussion as well as a territory-by-territory TV-sales strategy. HAGEN is expected to strengthen the pillars of modern democracy and the understanding of one another by showing the different perspectives of heritage, culture and the importance of a peaceful Europe. Also, the high production value stands for a competitive European film industry. Through a hybrid concept, a six-part mini-series and a feature film are produced. The feature film is not part of this MEDIA application. |
