Description
Description | The project consists of rehabilitating deteriorating water and sewer infrastructure in the Village of Haines Junction (dating back to 1960). The utility pipes are reaching the end of their useful life and have begun impacting the community’s operations and maintenance. Additionally, Infrastructure Canada has funded Phases 1 and 2 of upgrades as part of Clean Water and Wastewater Fund and Small Communities Fund. The project scope will include 1,800 m sanitary sewer main, 1,000 m sanitary sewer services, 1,900 m watermain, 1,500 m water services, 1,800 m of roadways, 850 m of alleyways and the installation of a heat recovery ventilation system and re-pickling of stainless-steel piping. The project will result in improved access to drinking water and increased capacity to treat and manage wastewater as well as improved road infrastructure in Haines Junction, Yukon. |
