Description | Halifax Regional Municipality is committed to achieving a 75% reduction in corporate and community wide emissions over 2016 levels by 2030 as part of their new climate action plan, HalifACT 2050. This project would support energy efficiency upgrades to five community buildings: Scotiabank Centre, Alderney Gate Library, Sackville Sports Stadium, BMO Centre, and Keshen Goodman Library. The upgrades include heat recovery integration, geothermal heat pumps, and improved controls. The Scotiabank Centre includes a 400 kW solar PV installation. The Sackville Sports Stadium includes a 300 kW solar PV installation. The BMO Centre upgrade includes a 350 kW solar PV installation. The Keshen Goodman Library includes a 200 kW solar PV installation. Halifax Regional Municipality will own and operate the project assets. They will also be the Ultimate Recipient of the funding. |
