Description

Description

Halifax Water Commission, a municipal utility that provides water, wastewater, and stormwater service in the Halifax region, is proposing to install solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, totaling 425 kW AC, at three facilities. The installs will include two net-metered systems sized at 100 kW, one 200 kW system and one 125 kW system that will operate behind the meter. The electricity savings from the projects will reduce operating costs of the various utility-related facilities, which will indirectly be accrued to rate base and benefit Halifax Water Commission customers. These solar installations will also support Halifax Regional Municipality’s climate action plan, HalifACT, which involves various energy and environmental initiatives, including increased solar PV and greenhouse gas reduction targets.
