Description | Halperin Park is a new deck park built on a structural deck over Interstate 35E in Dallas, Texas. Designed by HKS and SWA, the park reconnects the Oak Cliff neighborhood, which was divided by highway construction, by creating new public land over the highway. The park features public spaces inspired by Oak Cliff's culture, history, and geology, including a promenade, great lawn, performance shell, multipurpose pavilion, terraced steps, playground, gardens, and sculpted topography. The project is delivered in two phases, with Phase I fully funded and open, and Phase 2 planned to extend the park to five acres. |
