In 2020, the bridge underwent a complete closure due to safety concerns for the public, prompted by the discovery of micro-fractures in the 136-year-old infrastructure. After thorough examinations and the implementation of an innovative temperature control monitoring system, the bridge was successfully reopened in 2021, allowing access to pedestrians, cyclists, and river traffic. |
