Description | The construction of the 36km Hangzhou Bay Bridge connecting Shanghai and Ningbo commenced in June 2003. After a series of changes in ownership composition, the project company, Ningbo City Hangzhou Bay Bridge Development Co., Ltd., was established as a joint venture of multiple state owned enterprises and local private companies. The private partners include Younger (3.16%), Cixi Jianqiao (9%), Cixi Xingqiao (5.19%), Tianyi Investment (6.49%), and Yuyao Hangzhou Bay (2.60%). The total investment was RMB 12500 million (US$ 1509.66 million). The agreement was granted via direct negotiation. The project company will operate the bridge for 30 years. The bridge opened in May 2008. The exact financial closing date cannot be identified. Construction commencement date is used instead. |
