Description

Description

The cross-border cooperation is the only way to give impact for small destinations on the international tourism market. In the project, the Hanseatic heritage will be developed for its great cultural value from three perspectives: the local, the national and the international. The local perspective aims at developing the existing attractions and make them known to a broader public. The national perspective aims at bringing cities and their attractions together to strengthen the national tourism product and offer interesting packages, also to be used as additional tours to visits in the capitals. The international perspective aims at development of cross-border packages. This means that the participating cities will bring added value to Hanseatic tourism in a whole, the concept can be transferred to other Hanseatic regions in Europe. This goes hand in hand with the implementation of the EU’s Baltic Sea Region Strategy. It also copes with the demands on the Hansa as certified Cultural Route of the Council of Europe, namely to offer transnational packages. The Hansa is identified as one of the categories of cultural heritage. The project underlines the Hanseatic values in all parts of the project. The results could be used on their own or be added as interesting components to other natural or cultural packages. The project will prove that the Hansa is not only medieval history but living, sustainable heritage. Changes due to the project: - more tourism packages based on cross-border cooperation - more visitors to the destinations - prolonged tourism season as cultural tourism is all-year-round tourism - improved economy, more jobs< Hanseatic tourism has never before been approached in this way in the area. The local citizens, stakeholders, businesses as well as visitors will benefit from its results. The Hansas relation to European networks will make it wellknown
