The proposed project will restore the historic depot facility to resemble its original appearance. The renovations will include upgrades to HVAC systems, electrical, insulation, plumbing, and climate control. When completed it will serve as a transportation-related museum and tourist information center. Additionally, a plaza area will be constructed adjacent to and east of the depot to serve as an extension to the museum and as an active community space. The proposed improvements include plaza area, seating walls, water feature, landscaping, lighting, handicap access ramps, benches, trash receptacles, bicycle parking rack, display areas, vertical trellises and screening. The plaza will be located on the City-owned lands adjacent to S. Central Avenue. The Christ Church building currently exists on these lands, but the building will be moved across the street to the City-owned park.
