Description
Description | SEE BEYOND is a three-year project led by Calala Women’s Fund and implemented jointly with the Mediterranean Women’s Fund and Ecumenical Women’s Initiative. With this project we seek to prevent and combat gender-based violence in South and East Europe (SEE) by supporting large scale and long-term actions so contributing to the transposition and implementation of EU VAW/DV Directive 2024/1385 requirements. Expected outcomes in SEE BEYOND: R1. Strengthened i.e. more effective, accountable, sustainable and influential women & feminist organisations working on GBV; R2. Enhanced and stronger protection & support for victims/survivors of GBV; R3. Increased prevention of GBV incl. cyber violence. Implementation strategies: 1) Delivery of grants to at least 48 small & medium grassroots organisations active at local, regional or national level (WP2: led by Calala) - focus on women and feminist organisations with limited capacity and/or access to funding, including those working in rural/remote areas, to provide support for victims of GBV and/or carry out prevention activities related to GBV. 2) Development of a capacity building programme for at least 48 orgs. working on GBV (WP3: led by MWF) - provision of technical support, improvement of their effectiveness, sustainability and knowledge of EU values, laws and policies; strengthening of their advocacy role and their participation in policy and decision-making processes; enabling of networking opportunities to harness the collective strength of the grassroots women’s organisations towards alliance building, collaborative learning, strategising and structural change. Countries covered: Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Cyprus, France, Greece, Italy, Kosovo, Montenegro, Serbia, and Spain. As women’s funds we are experts in strengthening the women’s and feminist movement, we have strong expertise supporting organisations focused on GBV and we have proven experience working in these 11 countries. |
