Description

Description

The Village of Harrison Hot Springs (VHHS) will upgrade its Fire Hall (FH) in direct response to the COVID-19 pandemic distancing requirements and completing necessary seismic upgrades to retrofit this local government owned building. The single story addition will ensure the firefighters will have ample space to change into and out of their gear. The existing FH was constructed in 1992. Since then, seismic requirements found in the British Columbia (BC) Building Code have changed significantly. The Fire Department (FD), Village Council and Village management’s priority is to ensure the FH will be able to withstand a disaster such as an earthquake, forest fire, or flood, so that personnel would be able to respond to post-disaster recovery and emergency management efforts. In order to increase COVID-19 resiliency and meet these recommendations, the FD requires more space to accommodate a change room where they can don and doff their gear quickly while maintaining a safe distance from one another. This project will renovate the Village’s fire hall: - addition (504 sq ft / 46.8 sqm) one story addition - site Work - selective demolition - earthwork & concrete work - foundations and shear walls - URM (Unreinforced Masonry) Upgrade - exterior building envelope work - interior work - electrical/mechanical work; and, - all related works.
