Harrisonburg Urban Renewal Project

completed

The urban renewal project in Harrisonburg facilitated commercial expansion and significant downtown investment. It involved acquiring land, which was sold to cover the city's cost share and resulted in a net gain. The project also included providing public housing options for some displaced residents, particularly African American families who faced housing challenges during the renewal process.
