Description | The project will improve the village of Hartley Bay’s, home of the Gitga’at First Nation, water supply system through the creation of a new weir at the outlet of Upper Gabion Lake to retain water that can be released in the increasingly dry summer months. The new and upgraded infrastructure will also be designed and built to mitigate current and future impacts of climate change. Once complete, this project is expected to provide the residents of Hartley Bay with reliable access to clean drinking water, protect cultural and heritage aspects of the Gitga’at First Nation, and significantly support economic growth. |
