Harvey Solar project

US renewable energy company LRE has acquired the 350-MW Harvey Solar project in Ohio, expanding its development pipeline as power demand rises in the region. The planned solar farm, located in Licking County, is in late-stage development, with construction expected to begin in autumn 2026 and commercial operations targeted for late 2028. The project was originally developed by Open Road Renewables, which advanced it through permitting and early-stage development before the sale. Harvey Solar is expected to create more than 300 construction jobs, with a focus on local hiring, and generate over USD 3 million annually in local revenue, or around USD 125 million over its 40-year operating life. The project has secured a Certificate of Environmental Compatibility and Public Need from the Ohio Power Siting Board following a multi-year permitting process. LRE will continue engaging with local stakeholders as the project progresses, maintaining existing commitments and permit requirements.
