Haryana Clean Air Project for Sustainable Development (HCAPSD) Electric Bus Deployment

The Haryana government will deploy 500 electric buses for intra-city travel in Gurugram, Faridabad, and Sonepat under the World Bank funded Haryana Clean Air Project for Sustainable Development (HCAPSD). The project aims to transition to clean public transport, reduce emissions, enhance monitoring capabilities, and engage citizens in pollution reduction efforts. It includes procurement and phased deployment of 250 electric buses each in Gurugram and Faridabad, creation of a mobility plan, setting up depots, bus stops, charging infrastructure, a command-control centre, and maintenance and contingency plans. The initiative also targets phasing out old vehicles, establishing EV charging stations, and providing incentives for electric vehicle adoption.
