Description | The project entails the construction of a solar PV power plant, located in Al Manakher, 25 km east of the capital city Amman, Jordan. 60% of the joint project company is indirectly owned by AES and Nebras and 40% – by Mitsui. Under the Finance Contract, the US financial development institution Overseas Private Investment Corporation and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) have agreed to finance the project with $40 million. Sponsors provided the remaining $10 million in equity. The total project cost is approximately $50 million and is expected to reach commercial operation status in 2019.
