Description | The project aims to launch civilian flight services from Hasimara Air Force Station to improve regional air connectivity for North Bengal and nearby areas. The Hasimara Airport was selected under the Regional Connectivity Scheme–UDAN to enhance air access in underserved regions. The Hasimara–Kolkata route was awarded to TruJet under UDAN 4.1 scheme, but the airline ceased operations, causing a major setback. The development of a civil enclave requires around 38 acres of land from the West Bengal government, which is under dispute between the state and union government. |
