Description | The Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) has commenced the offtake of 10 megawatts (MW) of solar power from the Haske Solar Plant, located in the Challawa Industrial Cluster of Kano State. The project is a result of a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) between KEDCO and Haske Solar Company Ltd., spearheaded by the Federal Government through the Nigerian Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA) and managed by the Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI). The Haske Solar Plant is Nigeria's largest grid-connected solar facility, commissioned in January 2023. Solar energy from the plant is transmitted through KEDCO's Abattoir Injection Substation and supplied to industrial customers in the Challawa cluster via the NBC 11kV and Ceramic 11kV feeders. |
