An Egyptian-Italian consortium comprising Egypt's Petrojet and Arkad of Italy has finalized a $1.1 billion contract to build facilities for the second phase expansion of the Hassi Bir Rkaiz oil and gas field in Algeria. The project includes engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up works to increase production capacity to about 45,000 barrels per day by 2028. The scope involves building a central processing plant with a daily capacity of 32,000 bpd, shared facilities, gathering stations, a 217-kilometre pipeline network, infrastructure, roads, and auxiliary installations.
