Description	The project entails the expansion of the Hassi Bounif landfill located in Oran, Algeria. Total investment stands at USD3.38million. Sponsors of the project are the Province (Wilaya) of Oran, EPIC-CET and Ecogreen. Financial close took place on 30 May, 2017. The development consortium is working withnon-governmental organisation, R20, on this and a number of other projects inOran, including:A biogas plant fuelled by household waste;An e-waste facility;Expansion of the Hassi Bounif landfill;A facility for the processing and recovery of inert waste.R20 and the Wilaya of Oran are working towardsan objective of zero waste for the region. The three-year programme covers allaspects of waste management and is designed to become a model for North Africa.
