Hawa Wind Power Plant involves the development of a 50 MW clean power generation facility in Jhimpir, Sindh province. The HAWA Wind Power Project will also include the construction of a new on-site substation and a 132 kV transmission line, which will transmit generated electricity to the Pakistani national electricity grid. The project will be delivered under a BOO concession by Hawa Energy, through its SPV - Hawa Energy Pvt. Limited. The project shall be executed in Independent Power Producer (IPP) mode. Hawa Energy Ltd. has signed an EPA with the Pakistani government affiliated power purchasing agency CPPA. Total project cost are estimated at $130.3 million. Overseas Private Investment Corporation is providing up to $97.7 million with a term up to 11.5 years, including a grace period of 18 months from closing and a 10-year repayment period.The remaining funds are from sponsor's equity contributions, amounting to $32.7 million. Enterprise Emerging Markets Fund (EEMF), which is a multi-million dollar fund, is co-investing in the project. Financial closure was achieved on August, 8 2016.
