Hay River Community, Culture and Recreation Infrastructure Project

The Hay River community, culture and recreation infrastructure project will revitalize three community park areas. The Vale Island recreation development will include installation of a playground, outdoor skating rink, a multi-sport surface, and an indoor/ outdoor venue for small gatherings. Design elements will celebrate the fishing and transportation history of Vale Island. Enhancements to Porritt Landing Marina project consists of adding a historical facility for seasonal operation, a concession and a venue for local musicians and artisans. This enhancement project supports the development of the marina as a community gathering and recreation area celebrating the towns rich fishing, transportation, and waterway history. Improvements to the Bob McMeekin park includes the construction of an open-air shelter and small outdoor amphitheater. This greenspace will be an attraction that celebrates the local heritage and provides a site for community gatherings and special events.
