Description | The Project consists of constructing a new fish plant of approximately 1600 square metres in size at Hay River, NWT to allow for the primary and secondary processing of approximately 1.4 million kilograms of various species of fish from Great Slave Lake annually. This Project scope includes the construction of the building itself (including heating, plumbing and electrical systems) as well as the development of ancillary items such as cold storage, loading docks, a parking area, driveways, shipping and receiving access, drainage swales, etc. The Project aims to address and positively impact food security within the NWT and Canada by making a local source of clean, healthy, sustainable protein more readily available to local residents and other northern jurisdictions at reduced costs. |
