Description | The Haystack Solar Project is a 2,000-acre solar energy project proposed on private ranch land in Natrona County, Wyoming. It involves constructing a 199-megawatt generating station and a battery storage facility capable of storing 100 megawatts of power. The project includes the use of crystalline silicon solar panels and special battery containers designed to minimize fire risk. The project also plans to build a new bridge across Casper Creek and pay for a turning lane off U.S. 20/26 to aid traffic flow during construction. The timeline calls for environmental studies, permitting, project design, and utility interconnection study by Q3 2027, with construction starting in Q4 2027 and completion by Q2 2029. |
