Description
Description | The Heal KATH project is a rehabilitation initiative for the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) aimed at refurbishing dilapidated traditional wards of the over 70-year-old facility. The project was initiated by the Asantehene to improve the hospital serving as a referral center for 12 regions of Ghana. The first phase, comprising two floors of Block A, has been 95% completed with renovation and furnishing, awaiting installation of oxygen bedhead for full operation. The project started in November 2023 and was originally planned to be completed in two years but has been extended due to economic fluctuations and reduced financial aid. The project has stalled for three months due to a conflict between the hospital CEO and the project committee. |
