Description

Description

This purposed Provincially owned 12,000 sq ft +/- permanent climate controlled warehouse, will co-locate Health PEI’s pandemic readiness supplies and provide permanent Department of Transportation, Infrastructure and Energy(TIE) owned warehouse space for supplies currently located at temporary warehousing. Due to the lack of available vacant, centralized space, PEI has pandemic supplies stored in a variety of locations making it difficult to control critical inventory levels. The purposed centralized storage pandemic warehouse will accommodate palletized inventory and be configured and designed for multilevel shelving. Health PEI inventory (300 plus pallets) to include medical supplies such as gloves, gowns, masks, wipes, sanitizers, syringes, bedding as well as storage of the National Emergency Stockpile System (NESS). Department of TIE inventory pallets and mulit level open storage space to include building accommodation furniture inventories (modular panels, desks shelving units, chairs) as well as various used surplus accommodation inventories which are all used for the fit up of Government offices Province wide. The TIE space will also be required to provide the necessary surge space needed during an active pandemic. Additional features integral to the overall operation of facility is a common loading and receiving area (+/- 1000 sqft), washroom, lunch area, pallet shelving, open mezzanine space, pallet handling electric forklift valued at approximately $25,000, as well as the necessary site features such as asphalt and concrete aprons and loading docks. The building will be constructed to be highly energy efficient with provisions to be ready to be net zero or near net zero. This project will help support the response to the current pandemic and support the economy.
