Description | The overall objective of the project is to reduce the impact of natural and health disasters as well as the foreseeable effects of climate change on the populations of the Southwestern Indian Ocean, which is part of the 2015-2016 programme. 4 actions are planned: Action 1: Promote the integration of natural and health disaster risk management into the national policies of Southwestern Indian Ocean countries in a climate change context Action 2: Strengthening the resilience of people in the South-West Indian Ocean to the risks of natural and health disasters and the consequences of climate change Action 3: Effective response to natural and health disasters through appropriate human and material resources Action 4: Strengthening the capacities of actors in the South-West Indian Ocean by establishing a regional centre of expertise, training and innovation dedicated to risk management and climate change. |
