Health Sector Study

The present intervention has been designed to fundamentally improve the delivery of health care services through training of adequate and appropriate health workers and strengthen institutional capacity of the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare (MOHSW) at national level. Indeed, with limited and deplorable infrastructure, it’s difficult for the MOHSW to respond to increasing burden of diseases and other constraints affecting the operation and efficiency of the sector. The assignment is expected to assist in developing an integrated policy-making, planning and management process based on allocative criteria that targets resource allocation towards investments expected to have the greatest impact on reducing the burden of disease in a cost-effective and equitable way. To this end, the intervention should assist in the development of health infrastructure and training institutions, development of appropriate training for technical and professional health personnel including upgrading the strategic capability of the senior management staff at the central level of MOHSW.
