Description | The objective of the Health Services Improvement Project (HSIP) is to assist the government of Lao PDR in improving the health status of its population, particularly the poor and rural population, in selected project provinces. The project consist of the following components : 1) improving the quality and utilization of health services; 2) strengthening institutional capacity for health services provision; and 3) improving the equity, efficiency and sustainability of healthcare financing. These were selected on the basis that they are appropriate for attainment of the HSIP development objectives. In addition, the project will pilot new approaches for health financing, especially for the poor that can potentially benefit the whole sector. |
