Description
Description | The FC project contributes to strengthening the health system in Côte d'Ivoire and helps to improve the health of women of reproductive age and newborns (Impact). The aim of the FC module is to increase the use of improved quality health services in the area of reproductive health in the Lôh Djiboua and Haut Sassandra regions and the use of contraceptives and condoms in these regions. This is to be achieved by rehabilitating and equipping health facilities, including training measures for health personnel, and by improving the availability of contraceptives and condoms that are affordable for the target group. Comprehensive information and awareness-raising measures (IEC) and communication for behavior change (BCC) aimed at family planning, HIV prevention and mother-child health are intended to increase demand for health services and contraceptives and condoms. Following the Chancellor's commitment, the distribution of 251,000 mosquito nets was integrated into the project. Measures to support the national Covid prevention plan were also integrated into the project (raising awareness and procuring hygiene and protective materials). The target group of the project is women of childbearing age - especially pregnant women - and newborns. In addition, the communication activities address young people, as a particularly vulnerable group, and men, as decision-makers. The training courses accompanying the investment are aimed at health and administrative staff in the two main intervention zones. The project is sponsored by the Ivorian Ministry of Health (Ministère de la Santé et de lHygiène Publique). |
