Description
Description | The aim of the FC project is to support the implementation of the Liberian Investment Plan for Building a Resilient Health System 2015-21, which was adopted by the Liberian government following the Ebola epidemic. This will contribute to the sustainable reconstruction of the health system in Liberia and to ensuring basic health care for the Liberian population in order to improve the health of the population in the project's target regions. The module objective of the FC project is increased use of health services in the four counties of Grand Gedeh, Sinoe, Grand Kru and River Gee. The focus of the planned FC project is the rehabilitation, expansion and medical equipment of health facilities, a contribution to the development of the maintenance system and training for health personnel. Replacement new buildings can be planned if this is deemed to be economically viable. The first phase of the project focuses on the southeast of Liberia, in particular Grand Gedeh, Sinoe, River Gee and Grand Kru. The project aims to rehabilitate large primary and secondary health facilities across the country. The primary target group of the project is the poor and predominantly rural population in the target region. The secondary target group is the health personnel in the selected facilities, who will benefit from the improved equipment in the health facilities. It is planned to transfer the implementation of the project to Deutsche Welthungerhilfe (WHH), which is already well established and recognized in the remote regions mentioned. With a financing volume of EUR 15 million, the project can be implemented in the four counties mentioned over a period of three years. |
