The overall purpose of both the Lead and the Healthy Homes Technical Studies programs is to gain knowledge to improve the efficacy and cost-effectiveness of methods for evaluation and control of lead-based paint and other housing-related health and safety hazards. This also supports HUDs Strategic Goal to Strengthen Communities and the associated policy priority to Improve Our Nations Communities by improving the environmental health and safety of families living in public and privately owned housing. B. Program Description. HUD is funding studies to improve HUDs and the publics knowledge of lead-based paint hazards and other housing-related health and safety hazards, and to improve or develop new hazard assessment and control methods, with a focus on key residential health and safety hazards. |
