Description

Description

"The project ""Healthy Social Volunteering: CES for active lifestyles, citizenship and social equity"" aims to promote Solidarity Corps volunteer teams and organize some of them to encourage active and healthy lifestyles and also to help mitigate the impact of the Covid pandemic on socially vulnerable and fragile groups. The project involves 5 beneficiaries and 2 associated partners from Italy, Spain, Czech Republic and France. Activities will take place in IT, while partners from ES, FR and CZ will select and support part of the volunteers. 2 Associated partners will support the actual implementation of activities with fragile groups. 12 activities involving 138 volunteers (57 from disadvantaged backgrounds), will be addressed to support the social and health care system for some particularly fragile target groups (homeless, children with immunodeficiency or cancer, refugees and migrants) whose living conditions have worsened as an indirect consequence of the pandemic and the measures to contain the contagion. In particular, over a period of 2 years, initiatives in support of the system of protection of the homeless will be implemented in the cities of Palermo, Turin and Bologna, activities in support of the system of assistance to children with cancer will be organized in Palermo, and the city of Mazzarino, Sicily, will host a project related to the reception of migrants and refugees. The activities will be accompanied by an information and awareness initiative on blood donation, as part of a culture of volunteering and healthy lifestyles, both in medical terms and in terms of approach to the community. The whole project will be supported, during its implementation and at the end of the activities, by a wide visibility and dissemination campaign, addressed to about 90,000 people with the aim of disseminating the results and promoting ESC as a tool for social action and reconstruction of the European spirit also affected by the social impact of the pandemic."
