"Healthy Town aims to continue improving the face of Komotini by all means! Whole city will work with us and we will activate the locals in order to response on COVID-19 impact and recovery, particularly through supporting the healthy and active lifestyle of the youth and not only with activities promoting inclusion and well-being overall. Centered at the Youth and Volunteering Centre of Komotini where is our offices (Αρχική - Exagono Komotini), having the support of the Municipality of Komotini and Municipal Company of Education, Youth, Culture and Sports (DEKEPAK) https://www.komotini.gr/ , the assistance of the Rhodope secondary education directorate (http://dide.rod.sch.gr/www/index.php), and a whole city to back them, the 60 young volunteers will have all the necessary support to achieve the program's objectives. Through the upgrading of the daily habits to a healthier lifestyle of the locals as well as the support of the creation of a #be active Network they will not only help our town to improve its Healthy Lifestyle status but also they will contribute to a more inclusive society as we are engaging different target groups. Above all we meet all the permanent priorities of the program in a combination that aims to improve the healthy lifestyle environment, as well as the health itself of vulnerable groups. This main theme is not, however, the only priority that the program encounters. During the program volunteers will have the opportunity to learn new methods on how to offer to the local community. Particularly in developing new knowledge on the design, development and implementation of programs and activities both for contributing: to the improvement of health and well-being of vulnerable people and to build inclusive societies through protecting vulnerable groups and propose related healthy lifestyle activities and policies. At the end we believe that Komotini will be upgraded ready to adopt a Healthy Lifestyle reality in a community level. "
