Description | Bengaluru Smart Infrastructure Ltd (B.SMILE) is set to float a global tender for the construction of a 16.75-km tunnel road between Hebbal and Central Silk Board in Bengaluru. The project involves using eight tunnel boring machines (TBMs) to drill a three-lane underground twin tunnel road with a total tunnelling length of 33.49 km in both directions, including two-lane exit and entry ramps. The project is divided into two packages and aims to be completed in three years. The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has authorized B.SMILE to borrow Rs 9,303 crore from the Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO) for the project, covering 40% of the project cost including property acquisition. |
