Description	In July 1997, Road King Infrastructure signed two joint venture (JV) contracts for the upgrade and operation of the Dayang and Yangjin sections of the Hefei-Huainan Highway (National Highway 206) for 25 years. The 90-km (50-km & 40-km) super class II highway links Hebei, the capital of Anhui Province, with Bengbu, the second largest city. Road King obtained a 60% equity stake in the JV, in return for investment of HK$ 238 million (US$ 30.8 million). Road King funds its projects from internally generated funds and long-term debt. This includes a US$ 138 million syndicated loan and US$ 140 million 10-year fixed rate notes arranged in 1997. Toll collection on the road started in September 1997, at a standard toll of Rmb5/ton/vehicle. Maximum daily traffic reached 13,000 vehicles.
