Helium Gathering System and Processing Plant in Montana

U.S. Energy Corp. is planning to construct a helium gathering system and processing plant at the Kevin Dome in Toole County, Montana. The $52.2-million project includes laying of pipe, clearing, grading, trenching, pipe stringing, welding, coating, backfilling, testing and restoration, construction of building space and equipment foundations, and installation of storage tanks and dehydration, separation, evaporation, compression, gas processing, pressure regulating and CO₂ capture and sequestration equipment and systems. The plant will produce 12 million cubic feet of helium and 125,000 metric tons of merchant-grade CO₂ per year. Construction of gathering pipelines was expected to begin in April 2026, with the plant operational in 2027.
