It also has participated in numerous co-productions with Scandinavia and Baltics, Germany, France, Ireland, the Netherlands, the U.K., Czech Republic, Russia, Ukraine and India. Helsinki-filmi's development slate consists of 5 carefully hand picked projects, which are ripe for broader development. Projects target European and world audiences. All titles are intended to be produced as European co-productions. The slate consists of exceptional and original stories, portraying strong female characters of different social backgrounds. Inclusion of variety of age, sex, race and disabilities, is in our focus both on screen, as well off screen. Our goal is to reach wide audiences, with quality original stories, which tackle stories from the hidden curves of our societies and bring understanding, inclusion and equality to our societies. The development work includes work with treatments and scripts, work with creative heads of departments, carrying through locations and castings, building up the production structures with advancing our already set inclusiveness and green production strategies, international financing and attendance of markets, packaging the film and building a strong and modern domestic and international marketing, sales and distribution strategy. Being an innovative production company, Helsinki-filmi produces critically lauded, award-winning features and documentaries. It’s known for domestic box office hits and globally distributed films that have premiered at festivals like Directors’ Fortnight, Venice Days, Berlinale, Toronto, Karlovy Vary, IDFA and Gothenburg Film Festival.
