In the last few years have been acquired in Italy and Switzerland, the land elevation data with technologies and various inaccuracies. The project aims at creating a digital terrain model (DTM) correctly geo-referenced, multi-resolution, incorporating prior validation, all the information available for the alpine and subalpine, including Italy (Piedmont, Lombardy) and Switzerland (cantons Ticino, Graubünden and Valais). Basic elements are the estimated parameters of the transformation between reference systems national models in accordance with the accuracies of the original soil, the calculation of a model Unique geoid also supported by data from European Space Agency's GOCE mission, the testing of a cross-border service of satellite positioning (eg GPS) time based on the actual number of existing networks of permanent stations.
