HENKI follows a strategically structured co-production that combines the distinct strengths and resources of three key partners, each bringing specific expertise and contributions to the project. Importantly, the co-production structure between Norway, Slovenia, and Denmark emerges organically from the narrative itself — during the 1980s AIDS crisis, the connections between these European nations became vital lifelines for the LGBTQ+ community. The story's arc, which follows Henki's journey from Norway to Denmark to Tunisia and encompasses broader European responses to the AIDS crisis, makes these production partnerships narratively authentic rather than merely financial.
